This project aims to investigate the interconnectedness and influence of policies relevant to pluvial flood risk and management upon the social perceptions, behaviours and engagement of communities in relation to climate adaptation and flood resilience.

Project Objectives

This research project will generate new knowledge and greater insight into three important areas, namely:

  1. Community flood resilience - through examining existing academic evidence around engagement with flood risk, flood risk perceptions, and preparedness/adaptive behaviour;
  2. Policy – through a mapping analysis of policies to understand where synergies do or do not exist
  3. Connectedness – by demonstrating how policies and community engagement can join up to build community flood resilience.
