Title: Valuing The Benefits of Protecting and Improving Scotland’s Water Environment
Type of project: Science Policy Fellowship
Overview: CREW invites proposals for a c.4 month Science Policy Fellowship project to develop a spreadsheet resource that collates the available evidence on the costs and benefits of protecting and improving Scotland’s water environment.
The fellowship will require expertise in environmental/ecological economics and/or natural capital to assess, interpret, and organise evidence to support national-scale policy and decision-making.
Budget: Funding available is £77,500 exclusive of VAT (where applicable).

Eligibility: Following the initial call, CREW is issuing a second call for proposals for CSPF2026_01, with wider eligibility. Applications are now open to UK-based Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), Research Institutes (RIs) and consultancies. The call runs from 26 August to 21 September 2026. Successful applicants will be required to accept the CREW funding terms and conditions and enter into a Collaboration Agreement with any sub-contractors, where applicable. Terms are available on request.
